Special Session:
Canadian Research Perspectives: Challenges, Opportunities and Potential for Game Changing Breakthroughs
Sunday, May 15
2:15 pm to 4:55 pm
Vancouver Convention Centre (Room 11)
Topics:
- Hydrogen Production, Purification, Transportation and Storage
- Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell Materials
- Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Materials and Design
- Fuel Cell Systems Modelling and Design
Four leading Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell researchers, who have earned international recognition for their work, will provide their insights into what are the most important research issues to be aware of in each of their respective fields. Presentations will consider the impact of new research and development throughout the world. Factors such as government policy, societal perception and environmental factors may also be included when relevant. In some instances specific examples of related Canadian research projects will be described.
The format will be a hybrid panel session where each speaker will give an overview presentation followed by a stimulating panel discussion with ample time for comments, questions and answers. This will be followed by brief summaries by each speaker. The objective of the session is to set the stage for the entire technical program of HFC2011. We hope that by the end of this session you will be aware of what to look for in the presentations in the following days.
